What is the seasonal flu?
Seasonal flu is a respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It's contagious and strikes the respiratory tract through the nose, throat and lungs.
Some people, such as the elderly, infants and young children, and those with certain health conditions, are at a higher risk for serious flu complications. While we recommend everyone get a flu shot to help prevent the flu, we especially recommend individuals who fall in the high-risk category to consider getting a flu shot.
